2nd Shift Assistant Facility Manager

Assist the facility manager in maintaining and servicing all equipment and facilities at the Heartland Produce Co. Kenosha, WI location.

Hours:

  • 3pm to 1am Monday thru Friday; every other weekend (will be discussed upon interview)

Your typical day:

  • Assist in the development of maintenance budget, monitor plant spending and report on operating costs within functional areas
  • Alert management of cost and labor over run, make recommendations and implement solutions
  • Completion of food safety documentation pertaining maintenance and sanitation of the facility that relate to our yearly audit
  • Reports all issues to Facility Manager regarding damage of property or supplies
  • Provides guidance, support, direction and leadership through positive interactions with all employees during daily operations
  • Follows and implements HACCP plan requirements and SOP’S
  • Assist Facility Manager effectively schedule maintenance/sanitation team to prevent any shortfalls in the routine upkeep of the facility
  • Responsible for ensuring preventative maintenance plans are in place and all associated tasks are included and accounted for
  • Repair issues that include but not limited to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.
  • Perform on-call service requests and emergency calls as needed
  • Initiate recommendations on purchases of new equipment

What you need to succeed:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required – Associates/Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Advanced experience in two or more trades: electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, painting, etc.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time (roughly 80% of the shift) between rooms and across the facility
  • Strong ability to influence, provide leadership, work in a team environment and/or independently
  • Previous experience with operating and maintaining packaging equipment is preferred

Inventory Control clerk will be responsible for counting and balancing inventory daily, in our refrigerated warehouse. You must be very detail oriented, have great communication skills, and proficient with numbers. Supporting sales, invoicing, and warehouse departments with varying product allocation discrepancies.

Manage all aspects of the production and packing of fresh produce at the Heartland Produce Co. Kenosha, WI facility.

Hours: 8am to 5pm Monday thru Friday; every other weekend

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of workers, effectively communicate job duties and responsibilities to employees
  • Work closely with Quality Control and Sales Departments to manage the quality of input and output products
  • Work with Sales Department to develop and market new repack products
  • Manage inventory and procurement of packaging supplies
  • Work with maintenance, food safety and QC teams to develop appropriate SOP and PM programs
  • Maximize efficiencies and output effectiveness of the repack department

  • Balance needs of Sales Department and employee availability/schedule to maintain appropriate production schedules
  • Report on productivity, profitability and other appropriate KPI’s to management

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required – Associates/Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Must be proficient in English (verbal and written)
  • Previous customer service, sales or marketing experience is a plus
  • Previous experience with operating and maintaining packaging equipment is required

  • Work closely with transportation partners to negotiate rates
  • Effectively communicate with procurement staff and carriers on the dispatching of loads, follow up with location updates daily and sets arrival schedules and appointments
  • Work with carriers, vendors and co-workers to mitigate claims
  • Interact with carriers regarding billing issues to ensure accurate, timely payment
  • Maintain effective/professional relationships with customers, produce vendors, carriers and co-workers
  • Collaborates with warehouse receiving department to effectively receive loads and communicates to our transportation partners if any discrepancies are noted
